What is PCR?
 
The PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test is a test that came to the fore due to the corona virus outbreak. 
 
Use of PCR test in corona virus detection
 
 Corona virus diagnostic tests are defined as molecular (PCR) and serological (antibody) tests. Tests to detect the genetic material of the virus are called molecular tests, while tests to detect the 
 
Tests that try to detect antigen-antibody are called serologic tests. A real-time PCR test is used to confirm serologic tests for coronavirus. 
 
The tests to be used are selected according to the stage of the disease and your physician should decide which test to use.
 
What are the serologic tests?
 
COVID IGG test 
 
Identifying people who have recovered and become immune after being infected with the virus.
 
COVID IGM test 
 
Detection of people in the acute phase of illness after infection with the virus.
 
 DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANTIBODY TEST AND PCR TEST?
 
 Laboratory tests for Covid-19 Disease can be performed to detect the virus directly, as well as by showing the specific antibodies that the body creates against the virus;
 
PCR TEST: Detects the virus itself (viral ribonucleic acid [RNA]).ANTIBODY TEST: Detects the body's immune response to the virus (serologic antibodies).
