WHAT IS COLOR DOPPLER ULTRASOUND?

Color Doppler is an ultrasonography imaging method.

The answer to the question of what is color doppler ultrasound is that high-frequency sound waves hit the blood cells in the blood vessels and reflect back.

Color Doppler, which can be preferred for the follow-up of some diseases outside of pregnancy without radiation, helps to obtain reliable results on the direction and speed of blood flow in ultrasound vessels.

It is performed to examine the umbilical vessels in the umbilical cord of the baby.

It also helps to detect diseases of some organs, veins and arteries.

Since the application is performed through the direction of blood flow and vessels, it is not performed in the early stages of pregnancy when the vessels have not yet reached the desired clarity.

WHY IS COLOR DOPPLER ULTRASOUND PERFORMED?

When there are signs of reduced blood flow in the arteries or veins,
Diagnosis of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): A blood clot that forms in a vein deep in the body
To find blood clots and blocked or narrowed blood vessels in the body,
Venous insufficiency: Poorly functioning valves in the veins of the legs, causing blood or other fluids to collect in the legs
Detection of aneurysms
Heart valve defects and congenital heart disease,
In the diagnosis of superficial thrombophlebitis: Inflammation of a vein due to a blood clot in a vein just under the skin
Atherosclerosis: Atherosclerosis of the lower extremities, from intermittent claudication
